Biography - short version

Lea Nussbaumer is a jazz- and pop-vocalist from Berne which sings and teaches with her whole heart. 

 

Born in 1990, she is an artist of great authenticity in her live performance, endowed with a warm and expressive voice that matches a wide range of different music styles from pop, musical, reggae, funk to jazz.

After graduating in business and management she worked at the „La Cappella“ theatre in Berne. In 2013 she moved to Lucerne to study jazz-voice with Susanne Abbuehl and Lauren Newton at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and piano with Ricardo Regidor. In summer 2019 lea graduated with a Master of Arts in Jazz Pedagogy.

 


Biography - full version

The Swiss singer and composer Lea Nussbaumer was born in Berne on August 3, 1990. Already at a young age, she developed a strong interest in music and the performing arts and started taking dancing and classic piano lessons. In 2003 and 2005 she took part, singing and dancing, in two musicals for children, „C.I.W.L“ and „Red Rose“, both written by her mother. „Red Rose“ was broadcasted for 2 weeks by the local tv-show „Loly“.

From 2004 - 2013 Lea studied different vocal techniques with professional singers such as Githe Christensen, Marianne Keel, Myriam Frey, Virginia Beatrice and Sara Rutz-Fluri.

 

Since 2006 Lea has performed in over 125 live shows as a singer, dancer and guitar player with her show group „Petticoat“. With this ensemble she reached the finals at the audition of „Kleiner Prix Walo 2011“ as well as the semi finals at the „Swiss Talent Award 2013“.

Further extensive stage- and band experience consists of projects with different music styles such as jazz, reggae, dialect-pop, pop and funk with „Collie Herb“, „Mungo Aside“, „Emma & Co“, „Pepper and Parsley“, „Frifusion“ and „Bigband Konservatorium Bern“.

 

Lea’s first contact with professional artists, artist agencies, concert organization as well as the theatre and music business was facilitated by her 2-year practical assignment at „La Cappella“ in Berne. 

 

Lea studied jazz-voice with Susanne Abbuehl and Lauren Newton at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Music and the piano with Ricardo Regidor .

 

In summer 2019 lea graduated with a Master of Arts in Jazz Pedagogy at the Lucerne University of Arts in Switzerland.
